Subject: Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits for export
of Cashew, Pepper, Chilly, Cardamom and Sesamum Seeds
for exports from 1.4.2004 till 31.8.2004.
Attention is invited to Public Notice 4 dated
27.04.2005; which announced Appendix 37A; whereby Cashew; Pepper &
Chilly; and Cardamoms were excluded from VKUY benefits; and to Public Notice 50
dated 14.09.2005 whereby Sesamum Seeds (covered by
entry No 08.526 of Minor Forest Produce List) was excluded from VKUY benefits.
Accordingly it is reiterated that Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana
(presently renamed as Vishesh Krishi
and Gram Udyog Yojana)
benefits would not be admissible against exports of above products from the
date of exclusion.
2. Representations have been received
requesting to consider the grant of Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana
benefits for exports during the intervening period from 01.04.2004 till
30.8.2004 as the export products were entitled in terms of Notification No 15
dated 4.1.2005 which amended the FTP (RE2004) read with Public Notice No 47
dated 02.09.2005 (for Sesame Seeds).
3. After
giving due consideration to the representations from the exporting community,
it has been decided, with approval of C&IM, that exports of Cashew [covered
by ITC HS codes 080131 & 080132 (Cashew Nuts & Kernel) and covered by
ITC HS codes 20081910 (Cashew nut, roasted, salted or roasted and salted)];
Pepper & Chilly both covered by ITC HS 0904; Cardamoms, covered by ITC HS
code 090830 as well as Sesamum Seeds [covered under
ITC HS Code 120740 at 6 digit level and ITC HS Codes 12074010 / 12074090 at 8
digit level), i.e. Sesamum Indicum
(Sesamum, TIL) as per Entry No 08.526] shall be
entitled for Vishesh Krishi
Upaj Yojana benefits in
respect of exports made between 1.4.2004 to 31.8.2004.
4. Further
it has been decided that the last date for filing of applications for grant of
VKUY benefits for above export products for exports during the period 1.4.2004
till 31.8.2004 shall be till 31.3.2008. In case the applications have already
been filed and rejected by RAs, the same may be re-opened by RAs and considered
for grant of benefits in light of the above decision.
This issues with the
approval of the DGFT.
