Continuation of anti-dumping duty on Sodium Hydroxide, commonly known as Caustic
Soda
G.S.R. (E).- Whereas, the designated authority vide notification No.15/29/2004-DGAD,
published in Part I, Section I of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated the
2nd May, 2005, has initiated sunset review in the matter of continuation of anti-dumping
duty on Sodium Hydroxide, commonly known as Caustic Soda, falling under sub-heading
No. 2815 11 and 2815 12 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975
(51 of 1975), originating in, or exported from, Iran, Saudi Arabia, United States
of America, France and Japan, imposed vide notification No.69/2001- CUSTOMS, dated
the 26th June, 2001,G.S.R.461(E), dated the 26th June, 2001 and has requested
for suitable extension of anti-dumping duty, pending the results of the review
investigations;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), the second
proviso to sub-section (5) and sub-section (6) of section 9A of the said Customs
Tariff Act read with rule 23 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment
and Collection of Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of
Injury) Rules, 1995, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment
in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department
of Revenue) No. 69/2001- CUSTOMS, G.S.R.461(E), dated the 26th June, 2001, namely:-
In the said notification, in Paragraph 2, after the figures and words “26th December,
2000”and before the words “and shall be paid in Indian currency” the words and
figures “which shall remain in force up to and inclusive of the 25th day of June,
2006” shall be inserted.
